LANDBANK to open 20 new branches to expand nationwide network
The Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK) is targeting to open 20 new branches this year to serve its growing clientele and further expand its reach to underserved areas.
Of the 20 new branches to be put up, 14 will be in Luzon--2 in Northern and Central Luzon, 7 in the National Capital Region and 5 in Southern Luzon. Three new branches will open in the Visayas, and three in Mindanao.
"Negotiations for the construction of these new branches are now in full swing, with one new branch in Toledo City in Cebu already opened early this month," LANDBANK president and CEO Gilda E. Pico.
The LANDBANK Toledo Branch is now servicing Bank clients not only in Toledo City but in the nearby municipalities of Aloguinsan, Balamban, Pinamungahan, Tuburan and Astorias.
Pico also explained that LANDBANK's strategic move to expand its network is consistent with its thrust to provide banking services to the unbanked and underserved areas in line with promoting countryside development.
LANDBANK is also relocating some of its existing branches to better and more accessible sites. Last month, the LANDBANK South San Fernando Extension Office in La Union has been upgraded to a full-servicing branch, while the LANDBANK branches in Alicia, Isabela and General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite were moved to more strategic sites.
Also last month, Pico and Cavite Governor Juanito Victor Remulla, Jr. led the groundbreaking ceremony to mark the relocation of the Bank's Trece Martires branch within the Provincial Capitol Compound of the Government of Cavite. With the transfer, LANDBANK will join other government offices in what will be known as the one-stop government center in the province.
The additional branches will bring to 349 the total branches of LANDBANK nationwide servicing farmers and fisherfolk, micro and SMEs, and its other priority sectors. Apart from the branches, LANDBANK has 962 ATMs nationwide, and interconnection with all Megalink, Bancnet, and Expressnet ATMs nationwide.
