LANDBANK recently concluded the first run of its Lending Officers Development Program (LODP) with closing ceremonies held at the Diosdado Macapagal Hall of the LANDBANK Plaza in Malate, Manila.

The pioneer batch was composed of 23 participants – 13 internal and 10 external – all of whom underwent rigorous training focused on developing management expertise and leadership excellence.

The ten-month program consists of classroom training, on-the-job training, and Credit Facilities Proposal (CFP) creation. Included in the classroom training are lectures, case analyses/exercises, and other activities facilitated by in-house resource persons complemented by third party training providers.

For their on-the-job training, participants were deployed in groups to selected head office and provincial lending units to concretize classroom learnings and translate them to various areas of the Bank’s operations.

As their final requirement, trainees were assigned to work individually on actual loan accounts for the Credit Facilities Proposal (CFP) preparation. They were also required to present and defend their CFPs before the Bank’s Credit Committee.

The LODP is the newest addition to the development programs under LANDBANK’s Management and Leadership Development Framework, which is designed to strengthen the Bank’s succession program by ensuring the availability of a highly trained and qualified management pool.

LANDBANK President and CEO Alex V. Buenaventura challenged the graduates to be trailblazers especially in reaching out and bringing the Bank’s services closer to its mandated sectors – farmers and fishers.
