Keep in mind that top search results aren't always trustworthy as scammers also advertise on search engines, such as Google Ads, that may lead to phishing sites. Here are simple ways to check if a link is fake: A secure website should have a Universal Resource Locator (URL) that begins with "https" and should display a closed padlock icon ? in the browser. To confirm its authenticity, double-click the icon to display the site's security certificate information. Check for spelling mistakes ? or changes in the domain name. Phishing sites often do this to deceive you, such as a different/extra alphanumeric sign.
