For the first half of 2022, the major digital banking channels of the Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK) registered growths of 25% in volume and 21% in value, year-on-year, facilitating a total of 77.6 million transactions valued at P1.4 trillion. The increases represent combined transactions from the LANDBANK Mobile Banking App (MBA), iAccess, weAccess, Link.BizPortal, Electronic Modified Disbursement System (eMDS), and the LANDBANK Bulk Crediting System (LBCS). “LANDBANK remains committed to promoting greater digital adoption in support of the National Government’s financial inclusion agenda. Our safe, convenient and accessible digital banking products are designed to meet the needs of our diverse customer base, as we continue serving the nation,” said LANDBANK President and CEO Cecilia C. Borromeo. The LANDBANK MBA led in terms of transaction volume with 59.8 million amounting to P103.1 billion, translating to 27% and 37% increases in volume and value, respectively. In terms of value, the Bank’s internet facility for national government partners, eMDS, topped the list with a total value of P966.2 billion or a 22% rise year-on-year, from facilitating 1.2 million transactions. The LANDBANK weAccess—the Bank’s corporate internet banking platform—also recorded growths of 17% in transactions and 11% in value, facilitating more than 10 million transactions worth P262.8 billion. Meanwhile, LANDBANK’s web-based payment channel, Link.BizPortal, facilitated 2.8 million transactions equivalent to a 48% increase, with a corresponding total value of P6 billion or 30% growth rate. Lastly, the LANDBANK iAccess and LBCS—the Bank’s online retail banking channel and electronic disbursement facility, repectively—recorded a combined total volume of 2.8 million transactions amounting to P15.3 billion. Tulfo on 22 September 2022, to express the Bank’s full commitment to programs and initiatives implemented for the country’s vulnerable sectors. As the main distribution arm of the government’s social protection programs, LANDBANK facilitates the regular disbursement of financial assistance under the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) and Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT) programs of the DSWD. From January to August 2022, LANDBANK has released a total of P63.3 billion under the CCT program that benefitted 4.4 million low-income families for their children’s education, basic health needs and daily expenses. A total of P11.5 billion was also delivered to 3.2 million UCT beneficiaries, as part of the government’s support interventions under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law. Amid the rising prices of fuel and goods, LANDBANK is also working closely with the DSWD in implementing the Targeted Cash Transfer (TCT) Program to support around 12.4 million vulnerable households belonging to the bottom fifty percent (50%) of Filipino households. As of end-August 2022, the Bank has disbursed a total of P8.3 billion in cash assistance to 8.3 million household-beneficiaries under the TCT Program. The state-run Bank also upgraded the beneficiaries’ cash cards into transaction accounts to provide beneficiaries with wider access to an array of banking services, including cash card loading via LANDBANK branches, fund transfers through the LANDBANK Mobile Banking App, and cash-in via LANDBANK Cash Deposit Machines. With no permanent source of income, 80-year-old Cabalan relies on her pension to augment her daily needs and for purchasing maintenance medication for her asthma. “Nagpapasalamat ako sa LANDBANK dahil nabigyan ng pansin ang pangangailangan naming mga senior citizen. Meanwhile, the LANDBANK eMDS for national government partners facilitated 1.7 million transactions worth P1.4 trillion, translating to a 19% rise in value. The Bank’s online retail banking channel, iAccess, likewise posted a 16% increase in terms of transaction value amounting to P13 billion from 3.9 million transactions. The Link.BizPortal, LANDBANK’s web-based payment facility, recorded a 50% rise in transaction volume with 4.3 million transactions worth P8.8 billion.
